A loan helped to buy a variety of grocery items to sell.

Fatima's story

Fatima is a 32-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and one child in Gushegu district in Ghana. With a previous Kiva loan, she expanded her grocery business. She used the profits she earned to support herself.

Fatima is requesting another loan to buy a variety of grocery items to sell. She plans to use the profits she earns to reinvest in her business. She will repay the "social interest" on her second loan by volunteering two and a half hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor. Fatima will lead sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she has learned from operating her business.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
