Jerry's story

My name is Jerry, and I’ve had a love for building things with my hands for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was the one taking things apart just to see how they worked, and as an adult, that same curiosity pulled me deeper into woodworking, design, and eventually CNC work. That passion slowly grew into Woods & Goods LLC, a small business I run here in Chattanooga.

What motivates me now is more than just making products—I love the process of learning, experimenting, and turning an idea into something real. Every project teaches me something new, and I’ve realized that the mix of woodworking and technology is something I want to share with others, especially young people. Working with CNC machines and design software opened my eyes to how creativity and STEM go hand in hand, and I see real potential in using my work to spark that interest in others down the road.

I run this business by myself, and I handle everything from designing and cutting to finishing and delivery. It’s not always easy, but building something with your own two hands is the most rewarding kind of work I know. My goal is to keep growing Woods & Goods, not just for my own future, but so I can eventually offer hands-on learning experiences that help kids and families discover the same excitement for building and problem-solving that inspired me.
